Jim Kalac
CTO
After getting degrees in Computer Science and Business and being offered a partnership with multifund accounting and utilities software company, Jim prayed, “God is this what you want or do you have something else in mind?”
Jim headed the team that built a Windows based replacement for a proprietary portable recording and lip-sync studio that was used to complete 346 JESUS film translations during his time with the ministry.
The system and processes he created went on to help expedite the now over 1,300 film translations.
The JESUS film has been seen by billions of people worldwide with more than 200 million indicated decisions for Christ.
WorldLINC, a Cru ministry
Before it became popular, Jim sensed that God was going to do something with the internet to help people come to know God.
A few years later Steve Douglas, President of Cru said,
“I do believe that within 10 years, every year more people will come to Jesus Christ, through the Internet than are currently coming to Jesus Christ through local showings of the JESUS film, and that is a very high standard.
And Jim is at the forefront of helping make that possible … especially among unreached people groups.
Serving as GMO's Chief Technology Innovations Officer, Mark Weimer, CEO Global Media Outreach said,
“Jim is very gifted in seeing the big picture and the future and where it is headed; and that is harder to define because you can’t always figure out technology trends.
Even the best in Silicon Valley can’t figure that out.
But God has given Jim a real ability to be able to see and anticipate where the ball is going to be.
So it’s just like in good football you throw the ball where the person is suppose to be not to where they are now.
God has given Jim that vision, and so far that is largely why GMO has ended up the largest internet evangelism ministry in the world;
is because we are following the patterns that Jim anticipates”.
With GMO God enabled Jim to build a multilingual, multi community CRM that is used to connect thousands of online missionaries in 50+ languages.
Jim also pioneered a mobile platform, early iPhone days, that quickly became responsible for over 90% of the online ministry. GMO has seen over 2 billion gospel presentations and 223 million people indicating decisions to follow Jesus.
Walt Wilson*, Founder of GMO said,
“As a retired Apple Executive I know something about technology.
Jim is one of the most brilliant, creative technologist I have ever met in my entire experience in Silicon Valley.
He has created the heart of our technology that reaches over one million people for Christ per day.”
All About God
Not a stranger to All About God, Greg Outlaw, President & CEO said,
"Ten years ago Jim took vacation time to build the SEO technology that is foundational to everything we do.
It was relevant then and has stood the test of time with industry giants like Google giving us top rankings today.
Having worked with hundreds of top programmers, 1% of Jim Kalac is better than 100% of all the others.”
